The Mercedes-Benz G63 Amg came in 1st place. The Mercedes-Benz GL63 Amg came in 2nd place, and the Mercedes-Benz ML63 Amg came in 3rd place. The cost for each of these vehicles is coincidentally in the same order. Curb weight happens to be in this order as well. The SUV in 2nd place has the most horsepower of the trio, considering all of the SUVs have 5.5L engines. All of the SUVs are currently sold in the United States.
An even more common resident of the woods in Vinyl Windows Virginia, though perhaps less loved, is the Gray Squirrel. If you want to see squirrels, you should go to a hardwood forest that has plenty of mature oak or hickory trees growing in it. The best time of day to see squirrels is mid to late afternoon. The best months are September through November, but they are active year round.
The Golden Compass. To me, this rings loud and clear that our nation is not yet ready to accept atheism. Of course, movies like this don’t help it. This also says that people will do almost anything to get a movie that makes a lot of money, even if it teaches our children bad values.
In order to continue efforts to attract tourists, CVBs and chambers turned to government for funding. First, the local city government and then, the local county government and finally, the state government. At that point, it seemed like things were getting really good!
#5 Memphis – Let me get this straight, Memphis beats up on Conference USA opponents and suddenly the Tigers are the fifth best team in the nation? Thirty-point victories over SMU and Southern Miss are as impressive as beating up on your little sister. Yes, the Tigers deftly handled Gonzaga back on February 7th, but that is really their only quality win since they squeaked by an underperforming Tennessee team. This team doesn’t hold a candle to middle-of-the-pack Big East teams, which might be why Memphis lost to Syracuse and Georgetown earlier in the season.
To sort of balance this story, I introduced General Endicott and his lackey, Gary Grote (who had been a military policeman with Josh in an earlier life). In the novel, that fact that Josh and Grote knew each other, if only on the most casual of terms, is pivotal to the plot. Another “couple” in the book is Jeffrey Bonus and Jeanette Koskos. Bonus also has lost-father issues (he had died before Bonus was born, just as Josh’s father had) and Jeanette is the wild card in the group. As a defense mechanism, her identity is always provisional. She gives the narrative much of its vitality. Finally, I saw in Tommy Three Hands, the overt villain in the book, as playing against type. He’s an Indian, but at least in his mind he’s a victimizer rather than a victim and there is not much noble about him.
One of the best things about a bookstore is losing yourself strolling through the aisles of books. You can do that here. Sneak away some Wednesday afternoon and stroll through one of the best collections of used books in metropolitan D.C. It will be an afternoon well spent.
