Gas Tungsten Arc Welding is the Proper name for TIG welding. Well it may be the proper name, but it takes too long to say… and since hardly anyone calls it Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and most everyone still refers to it as TIG Welding, That’s what I call it too.
Let’s say an older diesel Pipeliner uses a gallon an hour in average use. At $4.00 a gallon, that’s $48 a day. The same welder running gasoline would probably consume about 1.5 gallons an hour under the same conditions. 1.5 X 12 = 18 gallons at say $3.75 = $67.50. The difference is about $20 a day. Let’s say you’re running it 300 days a year, so 300 X $20 = $6,000. AND let’s say you’re going to run this welder four years, so that’s $24,000 difference.
In the case of 6G pipe welding, the conventional institutions (welding schools) require so much baloney before you can actually weld a 6G practice joint, you can literally spend two years in welding school before you weld your first joint. Next, you’ll sit in Read more classes where they teach you some book learning about pipe welding. Next, you’ll get to weld a joint, and it’s back to the classroom.
If you can, that is a God-given talent. Very few talents are gotten by just popping out of mama. Singing is one of the few. Most talents can be achieved to a “World Class” level, by anyone with average skills. This was not always thought to be the case. However, recent brain studies prove it is true. If you have average eye-hand abilities, you can be a World Class pipe welder, with enough critical practice. Critical practice is where you take your abilities to the edge every time you practice.
Set up like it says. Set up your welder like it says. Now, doing what the Talent Code taught you, practice until you’re an ace pipe welder. Yes, you CAN do this. Look, have you ever seen a 3 or 5 year-old child play the piano or violin like a master? How do they do that? Read the talent code, but it is like this: Mommy and Daddy started them holding and playing with the violin when they were 3 days old (no kidding). By the time they are 3 or 5, they have thousands of hours of critical (difficult and on the edge of their ability) practice logged in. You can do the same thing.
Google “equipment leasing companies” and call them. Ask them who handles their returns. This is probably the toughest method in this article, but you can buy $18,000 in welding equipment for as little as $5,000 if you can get your nose under the tent.
So that makes what?.. about 10 different welding tests? thats 5 different combinations for the 2″ joint and 5 for the 6″ joint. I will stop now. It is starting to get complicated.
Other welders, your family, and a whole bunch of other people who think they know better than you will tell you, “You can’t do it.” Screw that! Start telling yourself right now, you CAN do it. If you set out the plan, it will happen. When you set a definite plan in motion – almost like magic, another bunch of people appear and help you make your plan a reality. This is the truth.
