During a recession, spending money is the fast way to ruin. Take a look at your weekly/monthly costs and find ways to cut them down a bit. Sounds easy to say, but not so easy in reality. The key to doing this effectively is to split your costs into 2 categories. 1 is the necessities, these are household bills like water, electric gas etc. the 2nd is the luxuries, going out, cinema visits, extra items of clothes or shoes or things that you can live with out if you have at least one pair. Trim everything that is a luxury back to the bare minimum. look at things like buying sandwiches and coffee out – these add up quite a bit over a month.
In case of a spill, act quickly! Blot the area with a towel. Be careful not to rub or scrub aggressively. This can cause the stain to become ingrained into the material and also cause fraying.
There are ways to tackle chores. Have a pail or something with a handle that has your entire supplies handy so you don’t have to run around the house looking for the glass cleaner or the dust rags. Things to carry in your home cleaning supplies bucket include dust rags, furniture polish, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, etc.
Another great opportunity you have right now is the procurement of new state of the art equipment. Machine builders are feeling the crunch too. They are reducing costs to keep their plants running and retain their employees. As a result, there are some really good deals out there on machine tools.
Make use of that extra time for domestic cleaners. Get rid of all those old parts that couldn’t be repaired. Sell off or recycle raw materials that you no longer have a use for. Organize those items you still use. Re-arrange your warehouse or departments for better work flow. Clean and paint your equipment so it will continue to serve your needs long into the future.
Any club type store membership such as WalMart, Sam’s or Costco are good places to buy in bulk your supplies for less. Most of your clients will expect you to bring your own supplies and have your own tools. I recommend that you invest in a small portable vacuum as some clients vacuums will not be what you need to do a good job. If they have central vac its usually best to use that.
First of all, you don’t have to do this alone. This is a great way for your whole family to get involved. You can make this fun for all your family members, and spend quality time together, while you are doing something useful. And you will see. House will be clean much faster.
